Admission into BUTEX is really competitive. Admission is granted based on the merit list, which is prepared considering the entrance exam marks and academic records (GPA). Top scorers in the admission test are usually given preference.

The BUTEX Admission is a highlighted topic among the students. Applicants need to fill out an online application form, submit required documents, and pay an application fee. The process typically begins after the publication of HSC results.

The admission procedure is being conducted through the official website- butex.edu.bd. Prospective students must pass a rigorous entrance examination. The exam tests knowledge in subjects like Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry, as well as English.

Eligibility for the Application

There are a few eligibility criteria for the admission. Candidates must have a strong academic background, particularly in science subjects in the HSC exam. Since there is limited number of seats and increased number of applicants, the requirements are high. The admission notice published on butex.edu.bd shows the requirements. 

Here are the list of eligibility-

• The candidate has to be a Bangladeshi Citizen.
• The candidate has to Pass the HSC/equivalent exam in 2024 from the Science group. 
• GPA-4.50 needed in both SSC and HSC Exam.
• Obtain a total of 18.50 grade points in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and English with a minimum GPA of 4.50 in HSC/Equivalent.

Note: There are reserved quotas for specific groups such as children of freedom fighters, tribal students, and other categories as per government regulations.

Application for BUTEX Admission

What is the application fee?

For your kind information, you need to pay 300 taka for the primary application. But you have to pay 1000 taka while you download the admit card. 

First of all, you should know that the application is not online based. You dont need to submit the application form through butex.edu.bd or any other online portal. You have to apply through SMS by Teletalk SIM.

You need to send two SMS from a Teletalk SIM for the application. See the instructions-

First SMS-

BUT <space> 1st 3 letters of HSC Exam Board <space> HSC Roll <space> HSC Passing Year <space> Board Name (First Three Letters)  <space> SSC Roll <space> SSC Passing Year and send this SMS to 16222

After you’ve sent the SMS, you will a replied SMS. Then you have to send the confirmation SMS.

Second SMS-

BUT <space> YES <space> PIN <space> Mobile Number

Note: Then, you will get your User ID and Password by a replied SMS.

Short Eligible List Download

Among all the applicants, a short eligible list has been made. It is to be mention that not all the applicants will be allowed to take part in the admission test. This year, 7,200 applicants will be allowed to take part in the admission test. 

From here, you can download the BUTEX Short Eligible List PDF file. The short list was published from the official website- butex.edu.bd. But you dont need to visit the main website to collect the short list. The short list contains the names of the applicants who are selected for the admission test. Dont forget it is not a result, it is just a short list of the candidates for the admission test. The final result will be published after the admission test.

Admit Card Download

BUTEX Admit Card contains several important information including the candidate’s photo and signature. But before you download the admit card from butex.edu.bd, you need to upload your photo and signature. 

For your kind information, only the selected candidates in the short list are allowed to download the admit card. 

To download BUTEX Admit Card-

• Go to the official website- butex.edu.bd
• Login there with User ID and Password
• Upload your photo and sign
• Then pay the application fee 
• Then your admit card will be available

Note: Candidates must bring a printed copy of the admit card to the examination center. Along with the admit card, they should also carry HSC Registration number.

BUTEX Admission Result

BUTEX Admission result 2024 has been published. For your kind information, the BUTEX Admission Test Results is published through the main website- butex.edu.bd. The result is published in a PDF file. The names of the successful candidates are listed in the PDF. So, you need to download the BUTEX Result PDF file to check your individual result. 

The admission test was taken for 200 marks. The BUTEX Merit list is made on the basis of the candidates’ admission test score and previous GPAs. You dont need to collect the result from butex.edu.bd. However, the merit list candidates will complete their admission. On the other hand, the students who are in the waiting list have to wait for the next update.
